Eleanor Bolles Parker

Eleanor Bolles Parker was born on October 31, 1904 in Fayette, Iowa. At that time her father James Donaldson Parker was 36 and her mother Nellie Klemme was 33. She married Robert Lee Fox on December 27, 1931 in her hometown of Fayette.

Eleanor graduated from Upper Iowa University 1926. She taught school for a year and then got a masters in drama at Northwestern. Eleanor also taught at the Francis Shimer School in Illinois from 1928-1930, Illinois Wesleyan College from 1930-1931, Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia from 1931-1933 and Robert College in Istanbul, Turkey from 1935-1941. Eleanor returned to the United States in 1941 and lived in Baltimore after the war where her husband worked in the Army Chemical Corps.

Eleanor died on February 19, 1988 in Honolulu, Hawaii at the age of 83 and was buried in Fayette, Iowa.
