Josephine Bowie was born on January 5, 1849 in Cobb, Georgia. She married Thomas Joshua Buchanan on December 25, 1870.
She died as a young mother on April 30, 1872 at the age of 23. Josephine Bowie and Thomas Joshua Buchanan had one child:
