Claude Eugene Buchanan

Claude Eugene Buchanan was born September 13, 1871. He married Corinne Margaret Swift on September 5, 1900 in Atlanta at the home of his mother-in-law, Lena Burckhardt. He was on the city council of Atlanta and was briefly Mayor Pro Tem in the late 1920’s. He later worked as a sales agent for Proctor and Gamble. Afterwards he retired and continued to live in Atlanta were he died on March 30, 1954 at the age of 82 and was buried there. 

Claude Buchanan and Corinne Margaret Swift had four children:

• Elizabeth Margaret Buchanan, 1903-1988
• Eugenia Buchanan, 1905-1990
• Corinne Buchanan, 1908-1967
• Claude Eugene Buchanan Jr., 1911-1934
