My name is Scot Buchanan Parker. This website was put together to share the history and photographs behind the genealogy roots of the Parker tree.
The information I have available is accessible by going to the Family List page. By sharing this historical information, I hope others who are associated with this Parker tree will share and enjoy it as much as I do. I would like to thank my uncle, Dr. James Donaldson Parker Jr., for his time and effort in gathering this data and doing the necessary research that allowed me to put this website together.
Over the past years I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Fayette, Iowa. I especially enjoy visiting locations where I can compare the past to the present. Charles Coleman Parker doctor’s office and William Henry Klemme’s lumberyard are two great examples.
Office of Dr. Charles Coleman Parker
Comparing the past to the preset
Charles Coleman Parker’s old doctor office is located at 225 S Main Street in Fayette. It was built between 1898-1900. In 2010 the building went under major renovations and now is a Northwestern Mutual office managed by Sharon Orr. I was able to meet with Sharon in 2010 and took pictures of how the building looks today. They did an excellent job restoring Dr. Parker’s old doctor’s office!
William Henry Klemme’s Lumberyard
Comparing the past to the present
William Henry Klemme’s lumberyard is located at 1310 Main St. in Ridgeway, Iowa. I was able to visit there in 2013. Below are pictures of what it looked like then and how it looks now. As of this writing, it is Ridgeway Feed & Lumber.
